Of 70,811 venture vehicles on the graph, 63,006 carry a lifecycle reading: 4,060 fundraising (6%), 31,501 newly closed or deploying (50%), 21,414 mature or harvesting (34%) and 6,031 wound down (10%). 7,805 carry no reading.
The lifecycle mix is the market's capital clock: how much is being raised against how much is deploying and how much must be returned. It is derived from Form D sales, vintage and the ADV reporting path, never from a manager's marketing.
