How “Most active institutional allocators” is calculated

A count, not a score: distinct dated fund commitments per allocator in the 12 months to 7 October 2026. See the ranking.

What counts as one event

A fund commitment is a dated decision by a pension, endowment, foundation or other institution to commit to, or approve a commitment to, a named fund, from the institution's own records.

The window

From 7 October 2025 to 7 October 2026. The window moves with the calendar, and the ranking is recomputed from the records every hour.

Counting and order

  • Committed and approved commitments count; each commitment counts once.
  • The date is the commitment date, else the approval date.
  • Ranked by the number of distinct counted events in the window. A tie is broken by the date of the firm's most recent counted event, then alphabetically.

Left out

  • Disclosed holdings with no commitment date, and proposed or recommended commitments.
  • Commitments dated outside the window.

Where the records come from

  • Board and investment committee minutes, commitment schedules and investment reports published by each institution
