How do I get an AI to research a company properly before it emails them?
A single task, answered directly.
Short answer
Describe the buyer the way you would to a new salesperson rather than as filter criteria. The General reads public sources about the specific company and person, decides whether they actually fit that brief, and writes an approach that turns on what it found.
Before you start
- A description of who you are trying to reach, in sentences. Not a list of firmographic filters.
- A connected mailbox if you want it to send rather than stage. It will stage either way.
Steps
- 1Describe the buyer in plain terms, the way you would brief a person.
- 2The General sources candidates from public records and the open web, then reads each one rather than scoring it on a field.
- 3It resolves the entity to a named person and finds a verified route to them.
- 4It drafts an approach grounded in what it found, and holds the draft for approval unless you have released that.
- 5Follow-ups are scheduled and worked from there.
How you know it worked
Each prospect arrives with the reasoning attached: what it found, why that company fits the brief you gave, and the approach it drafted from that. You can check the reasoning before anything sends.
What this does not do
Stated here rather than discovered later
- It does not buy contact data in bulk. Lists are built by research, which is slower and smaller than a database export, and that is the trade.
- It cannot reach a private vehicle with no domain and no public record. It says so rather than inventing an address.
- It is not a list tool with an AI writing step bolted on. If the research does not support an approach, it does not manufacture one.
What this rests on
This task uses ai that researches a prospect and writes the first approach.
