Description

Private credit firms and business development companies, with every BDC's schedule of investments read position by position from its quarterly filings, rolled into borrowers, facilities and lender groups.

Non-bank lenders to private companies: BDC advisers, direct lenders and private credit fund managers.

Methodology and sources

Limitations

A position is a piece of a loan, and a sum of pieces is a lower bound: banks, insurers, private funds and CLOs hold pieces no BDC schedule shows.
Non-accrual status comes only from a BDC's own schedule footnote; default, workout and restructuring are not on the record.
A maturity appears only where the filer tagged one, and a borrower with no attribution has no sponsor here rather than none at all.
