Private credit
Private credit is lending to companies by investors other than banks, through loans that are negotiated privately and do not trade on public markets. It covers direct lending, mezzanine and subordinated debt, asset-based lending, distressed and special situations debt, and specialty finance. The capital comes from private funds, business development companies, insurers and other institutions.
