Unfunded commitment
An unfunded commitment is capital an investor or lender has agreed to provide but that has not yet been drawn. For a limited partner it is the part of a fund commitment the general partner has not yet called; for a lender it is the undrawn amount of a revolving credit facility or a delayed draw term loan. Both sides track it closely, because the money must be available when it is called.
In DFX data
Each BDC position carries the unfunded commitment the BDC reports for it, so undrawn revolver and delayed draw amounts are visible lender by lender. Allocators' unfunded commitments are not yet published.
