What AI can attend meetings and take actions afterward?
Short answer
The General joins the call, keeps the recording, transcript and write-up, and then turns what was committed to on the call into actual queued work rather than a list of bullet points.
The problem this is for
A notetaker produces a document. The document then needs a human to read it and do the things in it, which is the step that fails. The commitment made on the call and the work that discharges it live in different systems and nothing joins them.
How it works
- 1The General joins the call as a participant.
- 2It keeps three artifacts: the recording, the full transcript and a written recap.
- 3Commitments made on the call become queued actions attributed to the call they came from.
- 4Anything that reaches a person still waits for approval; anything internal proceeds.
What you can check yourself
- Each call's artifacts are addressable and shareable by revocable link, so a recap can be sent to somebody without a seat.
- A queued action carries the meeting it came from, so you can always see which call created a piece of work.
Limits
What this does not do
- A recording that the meeting platform never produced cannot be recovered. If a call is not captured, the General says so rather than summarising from nothing.
- Transcripts are the most sensitive artifact the product holds; share links are revocable for exactly that reason, and that is a control you have to use.
When to choose something else
If all you want is a searchable archive of what was said, a dedicated notetaker does that well and costs less. The reason to use this is the part after the notes.
