Reading a record page
A record opens with what matters now, then its facts, relationships, dated events and provenance. Sections are titled as questions or plain labels, and every figure carries its source and date.
- What matters now or At a glance: the few things to know first.
- Facts or figures: each with its basis and date (Every filed figure, and the identifiers on an RIA firm).
- People: principals, the team, who to call. Contact values are revealed separately (see Contact information).
- Relationships: financed by, co-investors, service providers, LPs, lenders, consultants.
- Events or Timeline: dated changes. What changed shows the difference between filings.
- Across DFX: the same institution in other markets, with the basis of the match.
- Provenance or Evidence: the source of each fact, and Copy record ID.
Why a section is short or counted
Without a plan for this market, each related section shows its first 3 rows by name and counts the rest, and some names are masked. See Why something is locked.
Asking the support chat "what does this mean?" on a record gets an answer about that record's page.

- Confidence, evidence and scoresDFX states how it knows each thing rather than hiding it in one number: an evidence tier, a match basis, and a stated breakdown for any score. A candidate or inference is labelled as one.
- Dates and freshnessEvery event has a date and says what kind: Occurred (the date the source states), Scheduled or Was due (a contractual date), or First seen by DFX when the source gives none. Each market page shows how fresh its sources are.
- Why something is lockedA lock means the value exists and your plan does not cover it on this market. The page says what it withheld (for example +184 additional companies, or 9 relationships and 3 contacts) and what opens it. Names are masked on the server, so they are never hidden in the page.
